Asphalt stripping is one of the main failures of this type of pavement, which occurs due to the penetration of water between bitumen and stone materials. The force of water penetration into the mixture of bitumen and stone materials destroys the asphalt pavement. Water can exist in the pores of the stone materials or it can appear through the seepage into the cracks of the asphalt mixture. Water, by permeating throughout the bitumen layer and after reaching the contact surface of bitumen and stone materials and the active points on the surface of stone materials, weakens the bond between bitumen and stone materials.
