The Persian Gulf highway is one of the highways in Tehran that connects Tehran to Qom. In addition to the traffic of Tehrani citizens and intercity trips, this highway is also the passageway for heavy vehicles.

The aggregates used for the asphalt of this highway has a high percentage of silica. In the case of this type of material, the resistance is higher, but the possibility of sandblasting and asphalt exposure also increases. Due to the attention of the respected project employer (Tehran Municipal Engineering Organization) and the project consultant (Faradid Company) to the quality and moisture durability of asphalt, which is a very important factor in the strength and longevity of asphalt, the use of anti-striper additive to the project contractor (Milad Pakdasht Company) ) was announced. Asphalt stripping is one of the main failures of this type of pavement, which occurs due to the penetration of water between bitumen and stone materials. The force of water penetration into the mixture of bitumen and stone materials destroys the asphalt pavement. Water can exist in the pores of the stone materials or it can appear through the seepage into the cracks of the asphalt mixture. Water, by permeating throughout the bitumen layer and after reaching the contact surface of bitumen and stone materials and the active points on the surface of stone materials, weakens the bond between bitumen and stone materials. To solve this problem, you can use AkaBit AD.
