Implementation of in-situ hot asphalt recycling for the first time in Iran using AkaBit AD modified bitumen

Salmas Ghoshchi road, which is located in West Azerbaijan, is one of the high-traffic routes, which is a passage for heavy vehicles carrying loads.
The hot asphalt recycling project in situ for the first time using AkaBit AD, according to the type of aggregates in that area, was carried out by Imran Sazeh Barbad in 2015 with a road employer in Salmas-Ghoshchi pass. As the only company that owns hot asphalt recycling equipment in Iran, Omran Sazeh Barbad decided to use both of these materials in that project after examining the effects of AkaBit AD.

Today, more than 20 million kilometers of suburban roads and inner city roads in the world are covered with asphalt. In order to maintain the safety and durability of these roads, more than one million kilometers of them need to be restored and reconstructed every year. In our country, harsh weather conditions, high volume of traffic, carrying extra loads, as well as the unfavorable quality of construction, maintenance and repairs of roads are effective factors in the rapid destruction of road surfaces. During the last decades, road maintenance workers have tried to find the best solution for recycling and preserving the materials in the worn-out pavements and tested different methods of recycling. Among these, one of the most practical methods is “in situ hot recycling” known as HIR.

By inventing the third generation machines of this technology called AR2000, Martek company has been able to provide an exclusive and optimal process to solve most of the problems and disadvantages of asphalt pavements, which, while complying with environmental regulations, is a suitable answer to the technical and economic needs in the field. Asphalt coating improvement industry. Omran Sazeh Bard Company is the exclusive operator of in-situ hot asphalt recycling using HIR technology in Iran.
