Asphalt implementation of the Fath highway project using AkaBit AD modified bitumen
Fath Highway is one of the east-west highways of Tehran that connects Tehran to Karaj. Due to the location of this highway in the industrial area, heavy vehicles often pass through it and it has high traffic.
The materials used in the asphalt of this highway are mainly have a high percentage of silica, for this reason, despite their high strength and resistance, these types of materials are prone to stripping, which is one of the most common asphalt failures.
Due to the special care of Tehran municipality and municipal project consultants to improve the quality of asphalt and prevent asphalt damage in this project, attention was paid to the category of moisture durability, and after review by the project consultant, the contractor was asked to use AkaBit AD modified bitumen. It was announced and used in the mentioned project. This project was implemented in 2014 for the esteemed Municipality of Region 21 by the esteemed Paksarshen Company. The consultant of this project was Tadbir Froud Rah company.
