Implementation of polymer asphalt on Marzan Abad to Abbas Abad road with AkaBit AD modified bitumen

The road from Marzan Abad to Abbas Abad, which is located in the north of the country, is considered one of the tourist attractions of this region. The length of this road is about 59 km. Since this road is located in a rainy and humid area, silica aggregates are usually used for the implementation of asphalt in the northern regions of the country, which reduces the moisture durability of the asphalt and over time, the asphalt in these areas is destroyed. To solve these problems, AkaBit AD modified bitumen was used in asphalt implementation, which, in addition to increasing the adhesion between bitumen and aggregates, has increased moisture durability and reduced cracking in the asphalt of this road.
