BRT route (fast buses) of Khavaran highway is one of the busiest routes. Considering the importance of asphalt quality in BRT (high-speed buses), the respected employer (Tehran Municipal Engineering Organization) announced the use of polymer modified asphalt for the BRT (high-speed buses) track project, and this project in 2016 using polymer modified asphalt with AkaBit EL70
BRT lines (high-speed buses) are always subject to damage due to high traffic and carrying heavy loads. Many of the problems that have arisen on the surface of these roads are due to the insufficient elasticity of the asphalt layers. Rutting is one of the most important and common failures in these routes, which in addition to imposing heavy costs on the custodians and users of these lines, also creates many safety risks. A major part of rutting occurs in asphalt mixture layers, therefore, the use of polymer-modified asphalt in these roads can contribute to their quality and efficiency and significantly increase the service life of asphalt. .
AkaBit EL70 has a combination of plastomeric and elastomeric advantages. It increases the resistance of polymer-modified asphalt against dynamic creep, rutting and cracking, and also increases the softening point and shear strength.
