Implementation of polymer modified asphalt of Tehran’s Karimkhan bridge using AkaBit EL70 modified bitumen

Karimkhan Zand Bridge is a bridge in Tehran city, located at the intersection of Karim Khan Zand Blvd and Sepahbod Qarani Street, and it has caused traffic flow in streets such as Sanai Street, Mirzai Shirazi Street and Iranshahr Street. The length of this bridge is 430 meters and its width is 16 meters. Karim Khan Bridge was built in 1352 as a temporary bridge to control traffic in Tehran during the Asian Games. The lifespan of this bridge is five years and it was supposed to be collected after the competitions. But this did not happen and this bridge was practically used as a permanent bridge. In implementation of the polymer asphalt of the Karimkhan Bridge, to increase the strength of the asphalt and to reduce cracking and damaging of asphalt, AkaBit EL70 polymer modified bitumen was used.
