Nawab Safavi highway is one of the north-south highways of Tehran, which always suffers heavy traffic. Due to the location of this project on the road with high traffic and the use of river materials in this project, which contained high amounts of silica, the asphalt of this project was prone to stripping and sanding. For this reason, the respected employer (Tehran Municipal Engineering Organization) and the project consultant (Faradid Company) paid attention to ensuring the moisture durability of the asphalt and the need to use anti-striper additive to ensure the moisture durability of the asphalt to the relevant contractor (Mihan Kavir Company). notified This project was carried out using AkaBit AD modified bitumen in 2015.

Exfoliation is one of the main failures of asphalt pavement, which occurs due to the penetration of water between bitumen and stone materials. The penetration of water into the mixture of bitumen and stone materials will ruin the pavement. Anti-striper is an anti-stripping additive, which is used to increase bitumen adhesion to aggregates and reduce asphalt moisture sensitivity.
