Asphalt implementation in Arak-Khoramabad freeway using AkaBit AD modified bitumen

The executive operation of Arak-Khoramabad freeway started in 2013, in addition, the first three-lane freeway tunnel of Iran, 3.2 kilometers long, was opened in this project.
This freeway is 135 km long, 75 km of which is under construction in Lorestan province, which is being implemented  and the country’s freeway construction company, and part of it is being paved and underlaid.
This freeway has been built in four sections, the first section is from Borujerd to Arak and the other three sections have been implemented with 90% work progress in the Lorestan area.
This project is one of the projects that the government has focused on, the length of each part is between 22 and 25 kilometers on average, and the total contract for this project was 1000 billion tomans.
In the implementation of the asphalt of this project, the modified bitumen, AkaBit AD is used, which increases the moisture durability of the asphalt and prevents it from being exposed due to moisture. this bitumen, by reducing the temperature of asphalt compaction, has provided the conditions for running asphalt in winter and in cold weather on the Arak-Khorramabad route.
